Alaska Gold Tokens
Most Alaskan gold tokens were made in the early 1900's. The 1862/1910 dated Eskimo head 2 Too Wah tokens were made by Nathan Joseph. M.E. Hart made the AYPE tokens for the 1909 Alaska Yukon Pacific Expo, and the real Pinches &, and Parka heads for the 1915 Panama Pacific Expo. The tokens that look like Pinches but don't say "Pinch" on reverse are not real gold. These were made in 1978 by Art Smith. Despite this, they are rather scarce. Last on the page is an Alaskan jewelry medallion made circa 1900. While it techniqually doesn't fit with the rest, I'm rather fond of it so I included it here. Back to the main page.
